Buentello is just trying to attach himself to Kimbo. That fight makes no sense for EXC whatsoever. Kimbo isn't ready for someone like Buentello.

As far as storylines go, there is no more intriguing opponent for Kimbo than Gannon.

Kessler-Bute would also be awesome. I would have no problems with that. I am fully aware that Bute-Pavlik was more in the 'wishful thinking' category. Trinidad-Pavlik? NO MAS (or No Grazie).

I'm sure they will go for Gannon but this fight would do nothing for Kimbo like the Tank fight. A victory over Buentello would definitely open up people's eyes. I'm not sure Gary Shaw is ready to put his $ fighter at risk yet.

Good Post.

I saw that Buentello issued an open challenge to Kimbo which I think would be a light out slugfest. I don't know if the management at EXC would want to risk the chance of putting Kimbo in a position to lose just yet. But I see the fight as a possible Brock Lesnar situation. If he wins he is the truth if he loses he lost to a savvy veteran fighter and learned from his mistake.

I think Pavlik should fight Duddy next. After letting the proposed Trinidad fight stew for the weekend I wouldn't be against it as it would help raise Pavlik's stock. I think it all leads to Pavlik unifying all the belts in a showdown with Arthur Abraham.

As for your boy Lucien Bute. I would love to see him fight Mikel Kessler. I think that fight would really help raise Bute's stock.

Completely agree about Ken Shamrock. The ONLY fight I want to see him in is against Frank. Otherwise, he should focus on coaching before he gets hurt.
